WECR's music policy is to play "Music with Integrity." WECR defines "music
with integrity" to be holy music. It is set apart to bring glory to God.
No matter what the content of the song is, whether it is praise music or
pop, if it was written from the stand point of a Christian whose overall
goal is to bring attention to God, then it is "music with integrity."
Music written with a purpose other then serving God is secular. If it is
not for God, then it is against God.
At the current time, WECR leaves the initial discretion for deciding what is "integritable" to the DJ. If a DJ plays something that management feels un-integritable, the DJ will be notified and the inappropriate material will no longer be aired. At the current time, WECR's music style is to play popular Christian music.
"Popular Christian Music" is all the music at the top of the Christian
charts. These charts are always kept up to date and can be seen posted in
the station.
Decisions about music are non-negotiable and WECR is not required to
explain their reasons for musical decisions. It is not the policy of WECR
to debate over why or why not certain music is allowed/disallowed. Failure
to abide by the music standards of WECR will result in immediate
disciplinary action.
