Eastern Disc Golf

Here at Eastern University, we know that it's not all about playing ultimate. There's so much more to college than just that, and that's why all year long we play disc golf. Disc golf is a game that is played just like it sounds. There are targets or holes that one aims for and has to reach the target in a set amount of shots, and the scoring is just like a real golf game. It is a game where, just like ultimate, all skill levels can compete, aiming for different goals from just meeting new people or being their previous score. The most popular course on the St. Davids campus is set up around the Doane Residence Hall, and walkthrough is available here. Happy golfing!

RULES:
1) Every hole on the Doane Disc Golf Course is a par 3.
2) For those of you who are new you can throw pretty much anything you want. Backhands, flicks, hammer, inverts, whatever makes you happy.
3) You must play the disc where it lies. If you have to move your disc then it will cost you a stroke.
Extenuating circumstance in cases where disc lies in water one has two options:
1)One can use an object to retreive the disc but will face a one stoke penalty on the hole.
2)One may also brave the water and play the disc from there with no penalty.
4)Hitting cars, aside from tires, is a +1 penatly stroke.
5)When the hole is a tree, one must hit the trunk of the tree. Branches and limbs do not count.

Alright, we've made it halfway and the fun has just begin. By this time if you are keeping you're score, the leaders have assumed position and if you aren't with them, don't worry, there's plenty of room to catch them. Remember what you did wrong on the first half because a lot of the second half is similar. Good luck!

If you've read through that, you're probably really bored or find my witty humor to be quite entertaining. But seriously, thank Jonathan Wyatt for all the work he has done on our web page and Jon Case for helping us do pictures for this. Hope you've enjoyed this and if you have any suggestions for this or any part of our site, don't hesitate to tell us. See you on the course!
