Jon:  budget is at $1980

          Finance Committee will be meeting next weekend

          Club budgets close on March 31, leftover money returns to SGA budget

Betsy:  Tae-Kwon-Do coming before the Senate on April 5

Janine:  remember to sign in for office hours and make up missed hours

                Needs to see Domenick after the meeting

Dustin: will be holding a meeting for Mr. Eastern

Lindsey:  Mr. Eastern will be same date but at 9pm

                Still working on new date for Film and Pizza Fest

                Note changes to agenda

                Laura Sullivan will do her report next week

Adam (Sophomore Class):  busy working on recommendation

Stephane (Technology Team):  discussed merger with seminary and the technological compatibilities

                There is a shortage of technology staff at the seminary

                Complaints with technicians – considering having one on each residence hall

                Discussed file sharing

                New website will have all professor phone numbers listed

                Working on extending class registration hours – staff must stay to monitor registration so would prefer starting earlier

Joel (Marketing Team):  meeting canceled, no report

Request for Funds – Jammin’ Java (John Chambers)

                Needed for sound system - $1000

                ITSC will give $300

                Asking SGA for $350

                Student Development will fund the rest

                great idea, will help students which is SGA’s mission

                only asking for $350 and we’re getting money back from club budgets

                we have $1980 currently in the budget

                sound system is important and very hard to get at Eastern

                good idea, will promote student development

Mark O. moved to accept the Jammin’ Java Request for Funds of $350

                + $350, but not more, because they can get it from other departments and Student Development should be contributing along with SGA

                - will not help out all students, only those who go to concerts

                + but it is available to all students

                + good investment for Eastern, has potential to draw interest of bands and the community

Cabinet Recommendation on Extending Library Hours

                would ask student staff to work extra hours which would involve more money

                faculty backs up extra funding as long as library is being used

                good idea, only 9 hours a week adjustment, definitely needed

                library was not open Labor Day and Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Mark O. moved to accept the recommendation with the amendment to include Labor Day and Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in the extension of the library hours

Keila seconded

                + for it, only want Labor Day and MLK Jr. Day because those are holidays when students are on campus

                - not a good idea to be so broad

Cabinet Recommendation on Fitness Center/Athletic Center

Current Fitness Center is not adequate

Barbells are rusty, there is sometimes an hour wait to use the treadmill

                need cardiovascular equipment

                have a list of specific problems with machines

                Eastern needs a new facility, this recommendation gives faculty choices

                Sports teams are doing very well, we need this

                Very important part of developing students
